About
The Good Measure is a second-generation Athens atelier combining traditional handwork with a contemporary understanding of fit. Every commission begins with listening and careful measurement.
Our approach
We explain what can be changed, what should remain untouched and the likely cost before work begins.
An Athens atelier since 1987
Good tailoring begins with attention.
The Good Measure began as a neighbourhood alterations atelier and grew through repeat clients, careful work and word of mouth. Today, the second generation continues that same practical approach with a contemporary understanding of proportion, comfort and personal style.
We do not begin with a standard solution. We begin with the garment, the person wearing it and the way it needs to move through real life.

How we work
Measure carefully. Change only what improves the garment.
Listen
We discuss how the garment feels, how you wear it and what you would like to improve.
Assess
Fit, balance, cloth and construction are checked before we recommend any alteration.
Fit
Pins and chalk establish the change on the body so the result is agreed before sewing.
Finish
Construction details are respected and the finished garment is checked again at collection.

Made to measure
Cloth, proportion and purpose considered together.
For made-to-measure commissions, we guide you through cloth weight, drape, colour, construction and the details that make sense for how the garment will be worn.
The result should feel individual without feeling over-designed: balanced, comfortable and made to be used.
